It is the privilege of our squadron to announce the promotion of Lt Col Himstreet.  The promotion ceremony took place at the beginning of the squadron meeting Tuesday evening July 21st, 2015.

Lt Col Himstreet, a retired Navy Commander, joined Civil Air Patrol in January 2015.  He joined the Navy in 1991 and was designated a Naval Aviator in 1994.  He flew the S-3B Viking, which is a carried-based surveillance and aerial refueling aircraft.  Himstreet served in multiple operational tours supporting Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.  He has flown over 3,000 flight hours and has logged over 700 landings on an aircraft carrier.  He concluded his Navy career as a Commander, training other pilots and supporting Concept Development/Doctrine Development.

In CAP, we strive to honor those who have served their country in any branch of the Armed Services.  Because of

Lt Col Himstreet's prior military service and the rank he attained in the Navy, he was promoted to a commensurate rank in CAP.  We are pleased to be able to recognize Lt Col HImstreet's military service with this promotion.
